divided person - I am really challenged by "life" drawing. It probably should be referred to as "live" drawing by me. Live drawing is a process of trying to capture - usually - people as they are in the act of being themselves. I try to interpret these into paintings as well. I try to capture the moment in a recognizable image.
Then there is my 'Metaphors' work could be labeled as 'primitive' in that little attempt is made to give a 'natural' rendition of the objects populating this picture. Rather the energy is spent getting closer to my own vision. I am attempting to explore through a story telling format, using some modern symbolism and humor to communicate comparisons for modern living. Their meaning can only be discovered in the viewer as a personal relation to the imagery. With metaphors, for me, the idea is far more important than the recognizable image.
